GIVE US THE BACKGROUND - WHEN AND WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO OPEN A RECORD SHOP?

My name’s Gary and I opened Crazy Beat records in 1991. I was a DJ for many years and through my work on the club scene I had the opportunity to acquire the shop, based in Upminster, Essex. At first we concentrated on dance, reggae and soul but over the years branched out, and we now sell all varieties of good quality music to collectors, DJs and music lovers worldwide. We have in stock at any one time over 100,000 items on vinyl & CD, in all genres of music including Soul, Jazz, Funk, House, Garage, Dance, Disco, Northern and Modern Soul, Reggae, Rap, Hip Hop, Urban R&B, Rock, Psychedelic, 60s Pop & Beat and many more! We are highly respected worldwide for our music knowledge and the quality service we try to provide. We have a very large amount of vinyl hidden around the store – if you love record digging; our store is certainly the place for you.
