Flashback Records - Islington

From 7PM. FREE ENTRY

Flashback Records - Shoreditch
We're welcoming the return of Benjamin  Benedict to Flashback who will be supporting Handstand Parade, so the party is definitely on! BBC introducing featured band, Handstand Parade, from Reading,  England, will kick start our special Shoreditch event. Taking influences and resonating sounds from acts such as The Weeknd, The Smiths, The 1975, and Prince, Handstand Parade are destined to make their mark in the coming future.

Benedict Benjamin, formerly of Mariners Children and Peggy Sue, who has turned to a more full band sound for his second album Aint Easy. The early sixties Everly Brothers influences are still present in the melodies, but now there is an urgency and grit to the instrumentation that sits somewhere between The Velvet Underground and Tom Petty or more recent forbears such as Kevin Morby and Angel Olsen. His songs undercut the dream-like beauty of early sixties pop music with lyrics both frank and poetic, by creating a powerful Lynchian duality that makes the heart swell and the head spin. This will certainly be an in-store to remember!

We’ll also be joined in-store by shop favourite Ethan Johns, who’s touring the country in support of his RSD release ‘Revelator’. Watch this space for timings. PLUS! Tom Speight
London-born singer-songwriter Tom Speight has racked up more than 50 million streams ahead of the release of his debut album 'Collide' with a number of tracks playlisted by BBC Radio 2.
