VoxBox is bringing Record Store Day back to the street again. From 11:30 to 17:30 there will be continuous live music from TWELVE artists alternating between the Antiquary and The Last Word Saloon across the road from the record shop. All FREE and Child Friendly. The Sun always shines on St Stephen Street, Edinburgh on RSD.
 
This will be 30 min showcase sets from 12 artists. They are all incredible and most will have a vinyl release or a book to support. And If you don't like one, well... there will be another on soon. We are very lucky to have such a talented group of musicians coming down to entertain support the shop on Record Store Day and these have become special wee gatherings.

Record Store Day is back once again on Saturday 20th April and we'll be bringing you a mountain of RSD vinyl and a mighty sweet selection of in-store performances for your listening pleasure!

As always, we'll have ALL of the exclusive RSD releases on sale from 8am and then a whole host of local friends and extended family performing in-store from 1pm. Check the line-up below!

Rosie H Sullivan will be doing a morning and afternoon acoustic set of original and cover songs from her debut EP collection which is avail on vinyl in Thorne Records. She will also be working behind the till!

As promised, the second gig announcement for the only @recordstoreday celebrations in #belfast and it’s a 🍑 We have a rum bunch gathered to entertain you for the first of two gigs taking place on Saturday 20th April 2024 Gig kicks off at 1pm @ohyeahcentre with all these amazing acts performing songs from their own records PLUS some very special cover versions of tracks from their favourite albums! "One of our most treasured customers, avid gig goer and die hard record collector Beth Taylor makes her timely debut on the Piccadilly wheels of steel."
 
**1pm-2pm: Martin Moscrop (ACR)**
Martin Moscrop, long serving steward of A Certain Ratio should need no introduction. We’ve snuck him in for a cheeky DJ set before the full band perform and sign records later in the day at Soup Kitchen.
 
**2pm-3pm: Stu Richards**
Loyal customer Stu Richards is not only a busy bee DJing around Manchester but has also designed the sleeves for a few of the records in our shop! His unique take on collage art rightly garnering the attention of many label’s art department!
 
**3pm-4pm: Abigail Ward (Ghost Assembly)**
Suffragette City co-founder, Abigail Ward, under her Ghost Assembly alias made serious waves across the dance music world last year with her “I Miss Your Love“ release on Ruf Kutz, of which a remix EP (featuring DJ Absolutely Shit and Brian Not Brian & Piers Harrison) is due later this year.
 
**4pm-5pm: SNO**
Nongi aka SNO has played pretty much every big stage on the global circuit over the last few years due to her incomparable tune selection and sincere enthusiasm for music of all genres, from all over the world. We’re excited to see what she brings to the counter!
 
**5pm-6pm: Rhod Parry**
Rhod Parry runs the party Open To Close and is a respected Reform Radio resident. We’re relying on him banging on the box for the last hour of the day with a fresh smattering of house, disco and everything in between.

Before we open we’ll be offering free coffee from Tilted Coffee, a local coffee roaster and serving free bacon butties for the queue from our campervan. The coffee’s lovely and well worth getting in the queue early for 😊, as if the records aren’t incentive enough! There will also be goodie bags for the first few hardy souls in the queue.

On Saturday 20th April, it's Record Store Day 2024 and we have a tonne of exciting things happening at Wax and Beans. From 06:30am we'll not only be handing out lists to folk who are in the queue, we'll also be serving fresh coffee, bacon butties and Carrs pasties. Once the shop opens at 8am, we'll have DJ's on rotation all day, with Arcade State (fabulous Scottish band) playing a stripped back set at 2pm, followed by and appearance by Kyle Falconer and Prose at 4pm. Lastly, Northside are playing at 5pm to celebrate the RSD release of their album, 'Chicken Rhythms'. This will be followed by a signing.

_We are honoured to welcome special guests, Mark Deeks (of Arð) and Aaron Stainthorpe (of My Dying Bride). These 'gentlemen of doom' will be treating us to an unique, one-off collaborative performance. Following this we will have a Q&A session and album signing with the artists._

Here we go then! As well as selling all the RSD exclusives, we’re delighted to be joined by Van Houten, Bug Teeth and Forming for the celebrations, with an afternoon of live music in the shop. We’ll be selling beers! The atmosphere will be great, and we can’t wait to welcome you along!

Teas and coffees will be provided for those who have been queuing since the early hours, until we are ready to open at 8:30am.
 
There will be T-Shirts and goodie bags filled with various stock, snacks and drinks for the first few people in the queue.
 
We will have 10 local DJs playing live in the shop from 11:15am all the way until close at 5pm. There will be a mix of electronic dance, dub, reggae, roots, ska, soul, funk, punk and everything in between. 
 
There will also be a keg of ‘Record Revive Ale’ which has been specially brewed by us and our good friends at North Riding Brewery. It is a 4% floral pale ale made with citra, centennial and cascade hops! The best is that it will be free for anyone of age who cares to sample throughout the day!
