About Fish Records

Fish Records was founded as online retailer by Neil Pearson in February 1999 and has been trading folk & roots music to the general public ever since. Fish Records was taken on by Peter Morgan in April 2012 and moved into current shop premises in May 2018. Since 2014 we have also been a concert promoter and booking agent. In 2019 we established Fish Records as a record label.

During lockdown, although the shop was closed, we continued to operate online and we greatly appreciate all of the customers who purchased from us and pre-ordered upcoming releases during that time and who continue to support us both in-store and online. Now the shop is open, we have put in place social distancing and safety measures in accordance with government guidelines. For example, we are restricting the numbers of customers in the shop at any one time, we have a perspex screen up around the counter, are asking customers to hand sanitise and wear the gloves provided when browsing, we are regularly disinfecting surfaces and we are encouraging contactless payments where possible.

Our favourite part of RSD is the atmosphere and the excitement of customers purchasing the highly anticipated releases. This year, we are especially excited as our first official RSD release as a record label will be available on the first drop. ‘Bonfire & Pine’ by Hope in High Water will be available on limited edition picture disc on 29th August. The album, which has never been released on vinyl, was the first album we released as a record label in November 2019, so it is very special for us to be able to have it as an official release on RSD.
