7th OCTOBER, 6PM, LONDON: Record Store Day UK are excited to reveal a fresh batch of limited-edition vinyl releases for Black Friday 2020!
The event takes place on 27th November with special releases stocked in more than 200 indie record shops across the UK.
Record Store Day’s event is a different take on the usual heavily discounted and commercialised Black Friday affair. Instead, it aims to turn the Black Friday culture on its head by offering music fans a selection of unique records to celebrate record shops and the art of vinyl.
And the 27th November promises amazing one-off releases from artists such as Beastie Boys, The Weekend and Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings – a full list of which can be found here - and with full details and artwork on the releases page of this website.
If your local record shop is in lockdown, the exclusive titles will be available online at 6pm. Please use the store locator in advance to find your local record shop's website.
Record Store Day’s annual event in April was faced with postponement this year due to the pandemic. However, organisers went back to the drawing board and introduced a series of RSD Drop events across 3 months to support the indie record shop sector. The third and final Drop is lined up for 24th October and will welcome music fans with socially distanced queues, bookable time slots and a one-off move to same day online at 6pm on record store websites.
The Big Moon, the official ambassadors of this year’s event said “We’ve played in lots of excellent record shops up and down the country and have met wonderful people every time. From the people who work there and organise events to the generous souls who have parted with their money and time to buy our records and come to see us play intimate shows. It just generally made us feel like what we’re doing is sometimes worthwhile. It’s important that we protect these physical communal spaces so that in the post corona virus world we can make sure they are still there and accessible and welcoming to all. Support your local record store!"
