Hannah Peel - Record Store Day Music Box Tour

“I once performed with my music box for a whole day inside a red telephone box - this time I thought it would be fun to take it to the individual stores for Record Store Day. Being from the North, I don't have any childhood connections to the South East but every time I've done a show there, it's been one of the best... everyone has said I'm mad, but it's an adventure. Plus it’s a chance to celebrate RSD and vinyl and the special feeling of holding music in your hands.’’ -- Hannah Peel

Hannah Peel is setting off on a unique Music Box Tour on Record Store Day – 16 April. Celebrating the release of her Rebox 2 mini-album on Gold vinyl for RSD, Hannah will be performing songs with music box and vocals only at the following stores – see you there!

The seven track mini-album Rebox 2 features four new music box covers, including John Grant’s ‘Pale Green Ghosts’ and ‘Palace’ by Wild Beasts, along with three new instrumental pieces. Peel’s first Rebox came out as an EP in 2010, when she covered the likes of Cocteau Twins, New Order and Soft Cell.

Having released her critically lauded solo debut album The Broken Wave a year after the first Rebox, Hannah then formed The Magnetic North, a highly acclaimed collaborative project with Simon Tong (The Verve, The Good The Bad and The Queen, Gorillaz) and Erland (Erland & The Carnival). The band's Orkney: Symphony Of The Magnetic North album has recently been followed by the Prospect Of Skelmersdale which is currently received fantastic reviews and airplay in the UK and Europe. Her solo career has continued with the increasingly electronic three track Nailhouse in 2013 and the stunning analogue beauty of Fabricstate EP a year later.

Hannah is currently putting the finishing touches to her new solo album Awake But Always Dreaming which will be released in September 2016.
