TIME ZONE Featuring AFRIKA BAMBAATAA and JOHN LYDON "WORLD DESTRUCTION" - The Complete Celluloid Mixes For the first time, Bill Laswell’s rare and highly-collectable mixes of his classic ‘World Destruction’ are gathered together on one 12-inch single. Recorded in 1984 in New York and released by the renowned Celluloid label in a myriad of individual mixes, this ground-breaking track is widely-regarded as being the first-ever hip-hop/rock crossover recording.
Exclusively available for Record Store Day 2017, the single has been remastered by Matt Colton at Alchemy Studios and pressed on 180-gram white vinyl for an incredible sound! The custom picture sleeve and fully-printed inner sleeve feature photos and memorabilia from the original Celluloid promotional press kit.
With its incisive lyrics and powerful message just as relevant now as they were over thirty years ago, ‘World Destruction’ is where the punk rock sound of John Lydon spectacularly collided with the driving funk of Afrika Bambaataa.
