Open from 8 am, our shop Bside from the Cside is participating for the first time in RSD and we are very excited about this and hope to have have over 120 releases on the day.

We have live local musicians playing in our shop from 10.00am supplied by Kris Searle 'Inspire U Music' music coaching studio. We hope to give this event a real community feeling in the seaside resort of Herne Bay.  We also have an extensive range of good quality used vinyl for customers to browse whilst enjoying the music.

On Record Store Day The Book and Record Bar becomes a full licensed bar. Entertainment includes:  

2 pm: Dr. Alex Paterson (of The Orb) for a 3 hour DJ set.

And, we have Soul Night with 3 DJs playing 60s & 70s Soul, R&B and Funk from 7.30 until 2a.m.

Casbah Records, London

We have ordered a large amount of the RSD titles, probably twice as much as last year. We should have a list of everything we've ordered up on our news page at; by next Monday.

We will be having an instore performance by local band the Sonic Jewels. They play a mixture of Psychedelic and 60's influenced rock. That should be kicking off around 3pm.

We'll have an exclusive range of t.shirts and badges designed by ourselves on sale, all with a music and records theme.

As always we'll be running a competition for our customers with top prizes available. The details of this will appear on our Facebook page just before the day.

Record Store Day preparations are underway.

On April 18th we'll have one of Scotland's best Folk bands Malinky performing on our stage at 2.30pm, playing songs from their new album on release from April 20th.


Edinburgh's own, King Eider, will be playing at 1.30pm.

Record Store Day approaches!

After the success of the 2014 Record Store Day we are once again teaming up with Derricks Music to make 2015 even bigger and better! Put APRIL 18TH in your diary now!

This year Rega are the main sponsors of the day and have released a limited edition RSD version of the RP1 turntable. Visit Derricks Music on the day for your chance to win one of these limited edition turntables! All you have to do is be there on the day and fill out the entry form!

Once again there is a huge list of exclusive vinyl that will be released for the day. Either have a look at the Record Store Day website or visit Derricks to have a look at the releases. We will be at Derricks on the day showing a large range of rega products and playing records all day, you'll even be able to have a listen to your record on the RSD deck and you never know... you could be the lucky winner! We're psyched to announce the fist two artists to be in attendance at Drift on Record Store Day as part of our celebration with Ninja Tune.

Congo Natty is one man, a family, a movement. Mikail Tafari aka Rebel MC stands at the core, he's the lens that brings the whole into focus. His Jungle Revolution album from 2013 just sold and sold and sold at Drift, ranking as one of our top fifty albums of the year. Jungle re-booted of roots reggae for a new century.

Released on Actress' Werkdiscs label, Moirés Shelter was one of our 2014 albums of the year and patterns a unique fusion of leftfield House and Techno.

Forest Vinyl & Ceritech Audio, Gloucestershire

The Music Store at Ceritech Audio and Forest Vinyl are both delighted to be participating in Record Store Day for the first time. The stores are running a combined event at Drake House, in Cinderford, from 9:30 to 17:30, and have ordered a large number of the RSD exclusive titles- we hope to have over 150 of the exclusive releases on the day. 

We aim to give this event a real community feeling,offering free live entertainment, vinyl system demonstrations, and an extensive range of new, used and vintage vinyl for customers to browse whilst enjoying the music. It promises to be a great day out for all vinyl and music enthusiasts, and refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the day. 

In addition to the exclusive RSD releases, we will have in excess of 10,000 titles available for customers to browse at the event; including 180g Audiophile vinyl, box sets, limited editions, rarities and collectables. 

There will be live music performances throughout the day by local artists Finola O'Sullivan, Joel Parsons and Beyond Acoustic. 

Ceritech Audio, assisted by Duncan from Henley Designs, will be demonstrating a range of vinyl based music systems from Pro-ject. There will be a 'pop-up' system and accessories store, with numerous special offers available on the day.

This time round it will be more like our annual open day , with various manufacturers attending, but of course this will be centered around the vinyl format.

We will have six vinyl systems up and running:

Of course, other than our growing choice of vinyl in store, there will be Record Store Day exclusives available, which is what the day is all about. Our vinyl stocks are nearing a thousand individual titles now, there will be deals on the day ad more to come , hopefully see you on the 18th.


Groove, Orkney Islands

We are running a vinyl artwork exhibition for two weeks starting on Record Store Day, over 100 albums will be displayed in a dedicated space to celebrate cool and iconic artwork. 


HEAD Records, Blackburn

We are planning on having a DJ doing a set in the morning, followed by several bands (acoustic) in the afternoon, (full line up to be determined). We are also holding a raffle for a HEAD gift voucher & will be selling cupcakes, with proceeds from the raffle & cupcake sales to go to charity.



Hot Salvation Records, Kent 

Come to our store on April 18th and meet with people that genuinely love music, love talking to others about music, the art of it, why it fires us up.

We're taking the day to celebrate the phenomenon of listening to music and sharing the experience with others. We find records to be the most conducive format for this experience. We're excited to crack open some excellent pieces on that day and absolutely blasting the Rogers speakers, sinking some righteous coffee and doing what muso's do best.

Iconic Deal Real Pop-up Record Store

The legendary hip-hop record store returns to its iconic home in Carnaby.

The 2015 pop-up launches on Record Store Day, at 14 Newburgh Street, Carnaby.

It will showcase the cream of London’s undiscovered talent, including:

  • Emerging visual artists
  • Musicians
  • Fashion designers

A Photo-gallery will depict some of the memorable moments and in-store performances from a range of British artists including Example, Professor Green and Mr Hudson as well as internationally renowned artists such as Kanye West, Will I Am, Mos Def and John Legend.

Reconnecting with notable alumni, Deal Real legacy will curate a host of free one-off in-store signings, performances and workshops. Visitors can expect definitive line-ups of some of the most established UK and international artists, alongside the freshest up and coming talent.

Intense Records

Intense Records will be holding a special in store day for Record Store Day. Open from 9am-6pm, with live Djs, special guest appearances & local artists performing unreleased material plus competitions, free giveaways and a chance to win some of the RSD exclusive products in the Intense raffle.

Make sure you take advantage of the refreshments and BBQ to cure the hunger while you shop! Also we will be stocking the full range of RSD merchandise including ltd edition slipmats, tshirts, mugs and some lovely cotton shopper bags, be sure to check them out.

G.H.O.S.T from Goldman Records will be back at Intense again for RSD, after last years amazing set, we had to get them back! 



Opening the store at 9am we have Danny Bounce from British Intelligence & The Dig Over performing a early morning RSD warm up set showcasing a selection of the RSD releases. After that we have a host of record labels and producers popping in and not forgetting the Intense Records residents.

Founded in 2013 Flint Moore are a grunge rock folk band based in Norfolk. Known for their energetic sound and performances and their flexible play style.

Ed Taylor has been playing guitar for 50 years. He has been in numerous bands including Brian Auger & The Trinity and has even supported The Who.

10am: The Memphis Two

The Memphis Two are a lively rock'n'roll, rockabilly & blues duo this is a brand new act featuring Jacen Bruce on guitar and vocals plus young Bill Martin on double slap bass and shout backs.

Fleetwood Mac vocal harmonies with punchy guitar riffs, Morganway are a country / folk / rock band from the UK. Born last year in North Norfolk’s rural outback, Morganway was formed by twin brothers Callum and Kieran Morgan. The vocal blend of lead singers Callum and Yve Mary B is at the heart of the band’s raw and melodic sound. They are joined by Kieran on lead guitar and Matthew Brocklehurst on keys.



 12 midday: Phoenix Calling

Phoenix Calling began in 2012 and hail from Cambridgeshire in the UK.

They have already shared the stage with the likes of The First, We Are Fiction, Tu Amore, White Clouds and Gunfire and Under the Influence to name a few. On the 11th January 2013 they released their debut single, 'Bring the Roof Down', accompanied by a music video. They’ve also headlined the main stage at Willow Festival 2013 and played the BBC Introducing stage at Cambridge Rock Fest. Their debut album is scheduled for release in April 2015.

We are excited to announce that Brighton Dome’s April SPECTRUM will be celebrating Record Store Day with a daylong Festival of special performances. Working closely with our partners at Resident we will deliver the ultimate day-out for music lovers and record buyers.

The perfect way to celebrate RSD, Brighton Dome’s SPECTRUM and Resident conspire to make a musical enclave out of our corner of the North Laine. From 2pm, with your wristband, you will be able to come-and-go as some of Brighton’s most celebrated artists perform at Brighton Dome’s Studio Theatre.

Amongst the top-secret acts yet to be revealed, we can confirm sets by Fat Cat Records’ krauty-indie-rock heroes Traams, and The Fiction Aisle - the gorgeous new sounds from Thomas White (Brakes, Electric Soft Parade). There will also be a very special appearance from folk-punk stalwart, Robb Johnson.

Earlier in the day – between record shopping and gig-going – we host a seminar event, Releasing Your Own Music, exploring DIY culture through to recording, distribution and publishing. This is designed to be an informative, engaging discussion with a panel offering diverse perspectives from across the music world.

For just £6 you will be able to see all the acts and come and go as you please.
