Once again this Record Store Day we're pleased to be hosting an outside stage just around the corner from the shop on Ashdown Road.
Midday - Aldershot's Mathew and the Atlas who will be releasing their second album the following week. They also feature on the Communion Records RSD16 release available that day. They play dreamy indie-folk you should check if you're a fan of Bon Iver, Bears Den and Mumford & Sons.
3pm - we have Irelands' Bleeding Heart Pigeons. A Quirky alt indie-pop three-piece rather impossible to give a 'for fans of' to but if you can imgine a mix of Vampire Weekend, Teleman, Radiohead and Maccabees then you're kinda close!
Bear Tree Records
The newest independent shop in Sheffield we wanted to make Record Store Day an extra special day, by putting something back into the community.

Red House Records, Swindon
The excitement is starting to build for this year's RSD and this will be our third RSD experience in Swindon.
We are hosting a preview evening at Darkroom Espresso (11 Faringdon Road) on Thursday 16th. Not only will you get a sneak preview of some lovely vinyl, you can also collect your order list on the night. That will give you 24 hours to fill it in, ready for the big day!
From 6am on the Saturday (depending on the size of the queue) we will hand out RSD stock lists from which you will be able to select the titles that you would like. You can also download a PDF form and fill out in advance. (see above) Or collect a copy at the Preview evening. You can choose as many as you want, but only 1 copy per person please. Forms will be numbered as per your queue position so the earlier you arrive, the better chance of filling your requests. We will prepare your RSD selection and at 8am we will open for groups of 10 at a time to collect and pay. We suggest that you have cash if possible as this will speed the process up for all concerned (card payment will be available).
Some RSD titles are pressed in very small numbers so will be in very short supply (this is Record Store Day after all!)
However, not everyone wants the same thing and we usually have some very desirable pieces left when the dust clears! GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
Bleeding Heart Pigeons seem to exist in a world of their own.
The Irish band recall elements of shoegaze, of mid-period Sonic Youth or early Radiohead. Yet there's also a hint of prog complexity, something that comes out in their dexterous and fluid live performances.
As well as a ton of exclusive vinyl, we plan to have live music in store on Saturday (see above, other artists to be announced) and we will also open on Sunday for you to grab any remaining RSD exclusives!
We are teaming up with Darkroom Espresso who will be opening from 7am on Saturday and providing their superb coffee to early bird queuers.

We open the doors to our café at 6am, and invite everyone in for a bacon roll, all the tea and coffee you can drink, and a warm & comfy place to sit and count down the last couple of hours before those limited edition records go on sale! Last year we even had a table of regulars polish off an entire case of Prosecco before the record emporium opened… we’re happy to cater to those who really like to celebrate the day in style!
Of course you’re welcome to start queuing outside the shop earlier than that: truly dedicated vinyl junkies have been known to arrive with a sleeping bag at closing time the Friday night before, just to reserve their place in line!
Record Store Day may have begun in America, but over here we love a good old fashioned British queue. So as you come through the door at 6am, you’ll receive a numbered ticket that will reserve your place in the queue, leaving you to get comfy in the café for a couple of hours. When the record emporium doors open at 8am, we’ll serve you in that order (proper Deli-counter style), just to ensure a true “first come, first served” procedure.
Once the vinyl emporium opens, the fun doesn’t stop there – we’ve got live music upstairs all through the day, starting from midday and running right until when we close at 8pm (line-up details coming soon), with all the usual food and booze available throughout. And of course we’ll be blasting out choice cuts from the Record Store Day product list all day in the basement, where we also have ample seating, as well as Cambridge’s largest selection of new and pre-owned vinyl!
All updates will be posted on our website – stay tuned for more info, coming soon!

HANNAH PEEL – RECORD STORE DAY MUSIC BOX TOUR
“I once performed with my music box for a whole day inside a red telephone box - this time I thought it would be fun to take it to the individual stores for Record Store Day. Being from the North, I don't have any childhood connections to the South East but every time I've done a show there, it's been one of the best... everyone has said I'm mad, but it's an adventure. Plus it’s a chance to celebrate RSD and vinyl and the special feeling of holding music in your hands.’’ Hannah Peel

The seven track mini-album Rebox 2 features four new music box covers, including John Grant’s ‘Pale Green Ghosts’ and ‘Palace’ by Wild Beasts, along with three new instrumental pieces. Peel’s first Rebox came out as an EP in 2010, when she covered the likes of Cocteau Twins, New Order and Soft Cell.
Having released her critically lauded solo debut album The Broken Wave a year after the first Rebox, Hannah then formed The Magnetic North, a highly acclaimed collaborative project with Simon Tong (The Verve, The Good The Bad and The Queen, Gorillaz) and Erland (Erland & The Carnival). The band's Orkney: Symphony Of The Magnetic North album has recently been followed by the Prospect Of Skelmersdale which is currently received fantastic reviews and airplay in the UK and Europe. Her solo career has continued with the increasingly electronic three track Nailhouse in 2013 and the stunning analogue beauty of Fabricstate EP a year later.
Hannah is currently putting the finishing touches to her new solo album Awake But Always Dreaming which will be released in September 2016.
